GUMT at George Washington University

A huge congratulations to Teams Michelin and Snarff for their amazing performance this weekend at George Washington University! This was the first tournament for both teams, and they both ended the tournament with very impressive records.

Team Michelin, captained by Austin Upshaw and Michelle Dubovitsky, was awarded Third Place at George Washington University. Their final record was 6-2, and Austin Upshaw received an Outstanding Witness Award for his role as Dr. Lopez on the defense. Congratulations to all of the members of Team Michelin, including Julia Benbenek, Allemai Dagnatchew, Mikey Young, Arjun Ravi, Zev Burton, Ravi Durairaj, Josiah Laney, Michelle Dubovitsky, Austin Upshaw, and Sierra Townsend, for a great first tournament! Team Michelin will also compete at Duke University and Yale University this semester.

Team Snarff, captained by Ross Snyder and Lauren Scarff, received an Honorable Mention for their performance at George Washington University. They finished with a record of 5.5-2.5, and Gabriel Angelini was recognized as an Outstanding Attorney for his role as a Prosecutor. Congratulations to Elisabeth Cajurao, Paneez Oliai, Jacob Hamburger, Lorinda Ruz, Gabriel Angelini, Kaarish Maniar, Jenna Creighton, Talin Antarkar, Lauren Scarff, and Ross Snyder for an incredible performance at their first tournament. Team Snarff is now preparing to compete at Penn State University and Cornell University.

The next tournament Georgetown Mock Trial will be attending will be held at the Pennsylvania State University on October 26th and 27th. We wish Teams Snarff and Double A lots of luck as they continue to prepare for this tournament, and we can't wait to see you both compete!
